The Surtec System for polishing concrete is a simple, but effective process utilizing the latest in easy to use equipment, Surtec Fully Impregnated Diamond Floor Pads, Surtec’s Mid-Range Diamond Resin Floor Pads and Diamond Resin & Hybrid Pucks.
Many concrete floors can be polished to acceptable results with as few as two grits of diamond pucks and high speed burnishing with diamond impregnated floor pads. The final step will be the application of Surtec Insta Guard, a stain protector that gives the surface of the concrete protection against many common stains and provides an easy to maintain, high gloss appearance.
Protect your Polished Concrete with Surtec’s INSTA GUARD (CP-598), a unique blend of specially selected micro-polymer hybrids designed to form a durable high gloss protective micro-finish for polished concrete. INSTA GUARD develops rapid hardness, scratch, scuff and water resistance. Other polished concrete “guard” products currently on the market, are water sensitive and require as much as 7 to 14 days to develop properties. INSTA GUARD has excellent flow and leveling properties, is easy to apply and requires no special burnishing technique for curing or gloss development. INSTA GUARD provides outstanding floor protection and appearance over extended periods of time, providing a savings in labor and materials.
To maintain your beautifully polished floor, dust mop often and clean the floor daily with an automatic floor scrubber or mop and Surtec’s GUARD MAINTAINER (GM-163). Depending on traffic, burnish the floor with a High Speed Burnisher as needed to maintain the high level of shine.
SURTEC’S FULLY IMPREGNATED DIAMOND PADS for burnishing, polishing and maintenance are designed for performance, durability and longevity. The pads are diamond impregnated throughout the entire pad creating a longer lasting, wear and tear resistant pad at an economical price. The pads provide extended life due to the diamond content throughout the pad, offering the ability to use either side creating a flexible and more durable tool.
SURTEC’S MID-RANGE DIAMOND RESIN PAD is a mid-range alternative to traditional concrete polishing pucks and diamond pads. Mini-Diamond Resin Dots are attached to the SURTEC FULLY IMPREGNATED DIAMOND PAD of the same grit, providing faster cut, faster hone and faster polish. Ideal on new flat concrete, it is designed to open, hone, polish and refine; it is not intended to flatten a concrete surface.
DIAMOND RESIN puck tooling is a proprietary matrix of high quality abrasive diamonds bonded with various resins designed for high performance, long life, exceptional durability, high flexibility and strong grind or polish on harder concrete or natural stone surfaces. The flexible resins are designed for wet or dry applications and provide excellent channeling for dust or slurry. The consistency of performance is outstanding. The manufacturing process ensures even distribution of abrasives throughout the resin adding to the durability, longevity and performance of the puck.
TRANSITIONAL METAL HYBRID diamond puck tooling is a matrix of high quality abrasive diamonds bonded with a proprietary mix of metals and resins designed for long life, exceptional durability, high flexibility and incomparable scratch removal. Flexible HYBRIDS are designed for wet or dry applications and provide excellent channeling for dust or slurry. Even distribution of abrasives throughout the resin adds to their longevity and performance.
SURTEC BACKER PLATES To attach Diamond Pucks to traditional floor equipment, Surtec offers a custom Backer Plate. Pucks are applied to the Backer Plate, which attaches to a regular floor pad.
Proper disposal of concrete grinding and polishing slurry is serious business. Surtec has the Green solution that separates water from cement, economically creating two non-hazardous materials safe to dump.
WET CONCRETE SLURRY
Wet concrete slurry from concrete cutting, coring, grinding and polishing is considered hazardous waste and is not legal to dispose of down a sanitary sewer, or to be dumped in a sanitary waste site. It must be properly separated and meet certain specifications to be considered legal to dispose of by standard means (sanitary sewers, dumpsters, and landfills).
SLURRY.SEP™ & SLURRY.DRY™
Slurry.Sep™ (AC-880) quickly separates water from concrete slurry for convenient and legal disposal of the waste product created in the concrete polishing process. Separate the water for re-use or disposal in a compliant, safe manner. Slurry.Sep™ also balances the pH of the slurry, another requirement of disposal compliance. Slurry.Dry™ (AC-885) quickly converts the solids of the concrete grinding waste material into a dry, compliant, bi-product that is safe for direct disposal in landfills.
TANK.SAVER™ (AC-881) Equipment Saving Preventative Maintenance Solution in Slurry Management
When added to the recovery tank of your Auto-Scrubber, before wet polishing or grinding, Tank.Saver literally prevents concrete slurry from sticking to your tank. Tank.Saver helps repel sticky concrete slurry, suspending it in solution, until it can be rinsed completely from the tank.
In this test, one concrete slurry sample contains Tank.Saver and one does not. In sample #1 without Tank.Saver, the solids stick to the bottom of the tank and must be scrapped out. Sample #2 uses Tank.Saver, demonstrating SOLIDS, while separating, ARE suspended in the used solution, not sticking to the bottom, making the task of thoroughly rinsing out the tank SIMPLE & EASY.
